This model of a "Sun Tug" - the first version converted from
steam to diesel power, was in service in UK ports.
The model is 1.45m o/a x 0.35 beam. Built on the sandwich method from 7/8 inch
thick Australian Red Cedar planks and clad in fibreglass.
Power at present is a modified windscreen-wiper motor. All fittings are hand
made, as is the 100mm diameter 4-bladed propeller.
Controls are:- Forward and reverse speed control, all working lights, turning
radar scanner, foghorn, water pump. Power will be changed to twin-cylinder steam
engine. Model displaces 42 kilos to scale waterline.
